How to Wear Purple Lipstick

Purple lipstick is a bold color for anyone to pull off.  Today I'm going to show you how I am able to wear it during the summer months!  The lipstick being featured today is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Violet Frenzy and it's an absolutely gorgeous color.  Down below there will be a video showing my trick on how to wear this color =)

Here is the combination of the colors used on my lips.

Here's the video, I hope you enjoy!

Do you like to wear purple lipstick?  If so, what shade of purple and what brand?

Review: Revlon Photoready Cream Blush - Flushed

A few weeks ago I was just watching a bunch of Youtube videos and then came across a review featuring this Revlon Cream Blush.  The color I picked up was "Flushed" and it is a hot pink with blue undertones.  There are three blushes from this line in total and the other two are Pinched (peachy/neutral) and Coral Reef (bright coral).  Also, they all have a cream to powder finish.

Now for the review...

What I noticed when I first started to apply this blush, is that there is no form of shimmer or sheen to it, which is something I typically go for.  With this being my first time trying any cream blush, that was something I didn't mind too much.  The product goes on very easily, and, in my opinion, works best when applied with fingers.  Considering I have a darker skin tone, the blush does not show up against my skin with just one swipe.  I have to use up to four swipes to get a "flushed" look.  Once that look is achieved it looks absolutely gorgeous!  Though this is a cream to powder product, I do recommend setting it with either a blush in a similar color or a translucent powder.  As for how long the blush lasts, I think once it's set with a powder it should last at least 5-7 hours.

As for cost, I purchased this from Shoppers Drug Mart for $17.99 CAD.  I know that it was a crazy expensive price, but my Walmart still doesn't have it.  Though I had to settle for the price, it's a good thing that I like the product or that would have been unfortunate.

Overall, I really do like this product, but since it is pricey, I don't plan on picking up another one.

Have you tried any of Revlon's new cream blushes?  If so, what do you think of them?  Also, are there any other brands that carry cream blushes that you really like?

Review/Application - Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara!

Hey everyone, I'm here today to do a review on the Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara.  If you're like me and watch a ton of Youtube videos, especially beauty related ones, then you were probably bombarded with a bunch of advertisments concerning this mascara.  I have to say that the advertisments worked and made me buy it =)

I bought the mascara from Shoppers Drug Mart for $8.99.

Now for the review, Maybelline claims that this mascara will give eyelashes "massive and supple volume."  Unfortunately, I can't say that I agree with them.  What I was expecting from this mascara was something similar to the Falsies mascara, which was an amazing product.  All this product seemed to do was coat my lashes, but that was it, there was no volume of any kind (and this is coming from someone with long lashes)!

However, I will say that the new gel-mousse formula that they created feels awesome against the lashes and it holds the curl of my lashes well.

Here's the video review and application of the mascara.

Have you tried this mascara?  If so, did it work well for you?

Nail of the Day! Essie's Trophy Wife

Today's Nail of the Day is Essie's Trophy Wife:  "a perfect deep teal pearl" (as described on the website) and that's exactly what it is!  I typically go for pearlescent nail colors, and this just called out my name =)  This is my first teal color and I absolutely adore it.

I picked up this color from Walmart about two weeks ago and it was on sale for $7.96.  So, if you're interested in getting any Essie nail polishes, I suggest checking out Walmart because they usually have them on sale.

Do you like teal nail colors, if so, what are your favorites?
